Carla...Thank you so much for this beautiful and heart tugging post and for your volunteering to be our "Blog Manager." My son spent only a short period of time in jail because of shoplifting to pay for drugs. He was so distraught when arrested (I had to turn him in) that he was out of control at the jail and they chose to send him to the Walter Ruther Hospital for the Criminally Insane in Detroit. That was God who did that and he told me "hand off I got this." God's tough love has saved my son from himself and after over 20 years of trying to fix his problems, I learned that letting go and letting God do his work is the best remedy. My son asked the Lord in his life as a teenager; but continued to try and do it himself until Detroit. The tough love approach is tough on ALL parties; but many times is the only way that works. God bless you for this great tool of communications about stuff we deal with in life that are "tough."
